Webinar: Individualized Instruction & Assessment

Webinar: Individualized Instruction & Assessment

The fourth and final presentation in our 2021 Spring Webinar Series was held June 1, with a presentation co-led by Early Learning Network researcher Ashley Adams, Ph.D., CCC-SLP, an assistant professor of speech, language and hearing sciences at San Diego State University, and Sara Ruffner, an elementary school teacher and literacy outcomes specialist for Learning Ovations.

The joint presentation focused on technological supports to promote individualized instruction and assessment in pre-K to third grade classrooms.

The presenters shared insights and information about a new technology-based classroom observation tool called OLOS, or Optimizing Learning Opportunities for Students. OLOS is being tested in classrooms across the U.S. as part of the network’s research studies, and aims to support teachers’ practices and improve student outcomes by fostering more personalized learning opportunities.

Adams and Ruffner also discussed Assessment to Instruction (A2i), a technological support that works in conjunction with the OLOS observation system.

A video recording of the webinar and additional resources are now available.
